About
Hi, I’m Dr. Indermohan Khandelwal also known as Dr IMK, and I know now that I have come into this world with a very clear purpose and mission after going through much of grind myself:
* To help 1,000,000 working professionals live a healthy lifestyle and achieve their dream body & weight.
I truly appreciate the fact that you’re here and it’s your commitment to yourself to achieve your dream body & weight through the process of transformation using my "Swsathya Santulan System".
I want to develop a deep virtual relationship with you in our journey together.
I truly value your time here and as I value you from the core of my heart.
And to connect better, I would like to share a little about myself and my journey.
I grew up seeing this picture of my father getting the prize and praise during his graduation which was displayed in our room in the village during my childhood and I always asked my grandfather about it. He also stated that my father’s friend was just a few marks away from getting that top rank in the united Haryana & Punjab at that time in the school and he planted a “seed” in me, and I also gave him a promise that Dadaji I will do that in my life.
My Grandfather Late Shri Chiranjilal (on left) and my grandmother Late Shrimati Chankaur Devi (on right)
In the evening, whenever I was with my grandfather, I always asked him to tell me a story and he had such a wonderful collection of motivational, inspirational and moral rich stories that I used to sleep with my Dadu and enrich myself with all the knowledge. He used to install the moral values and etiquette in me with the help of those stories.
I did not understand the context of his messages to me when I was a kid, but now when I look back in time, I have been living my grandpa’s message and am always thankful to almighty and offer gratitude to my Dadu for shaping me to my present personality.
The greatest gift he gave me… was to be a “lifelong learner” and a vision to see dreams and work them out into a reality.
I was an outstanding and fit student in school until the sixth standard and always stayed in the top 3 ranks. As we shifted to Gurgaon in 1993 and I got admission in the new school, things started to change for me.
To be very true I was not able to accustom the change in teachers, their style of teaching which affected my studies and grades started to fall and I became an average student who just wanna pass by the first division. I struggled a lot in those days and there is no help apart from one of my batchmates Deepak Gupta whose work I usually copy many times to get out of the class teacher mess. I became a strict introvert with a limited friend circle and focused just to save my skin. I also get some of the comments regarding my lean and thin body physique.
At times I also get comments like “SUKADI PEHLWAN” which at times irritates me. This made me a compulsive eater with lots of butter and ghee in many of my home-made curries and food preparations. I literally became a foodie and enjoy trying all sorts of different dishes from different places.
MY SCHOOL’S GEOGRAPHY PROJECT (1993): That’s Me – 1st From the Left with tie along with my batchmate Vidhushi in my seventh standard.
I used to play a lot of outdoor games and whenever I am not studying, I use to play outside and for this I also get many of the warnings from my parents at times. Had played all the outdoor games of my time. Be it cricket, guli - danda, marbles, pitthu, football, cycling, gulele, kho-kho, kabbadi, koklachupaki, hide & seek, unch neech, poshampa, pakdam pakdai, Badminton etc.
I just couldn't concentrate in boring classrooms.
Got just 64% marks in my 10th board exams and eventually opted for medical with mathematics. Truly speaking I wasn't sure of what I should opt for, and I wanted to select either of the one but went with my father’s choice and I really want him to live his dream through me. My father saw a doctor in me, and I took it as a challenge.
And as I could not connect with a few of the teachers in school I ended up flunking in few of my school terminal examinations, especially mathematics and physics in my 10+1 and 10+2 for which I was even given some remarks by my batchmates and teachers which got clearly engraved on me and am thankful to them and offer my sincere gratitude to them as they actually showed me the mirror. This changed the entire trajectory of my life. I started additional tuitions and my teacher at tuition made me accelerate my understanding of these subjects.
In 1999, I appeared for my 10+2 examination and some rulings for the age criteria especially for the medical and engineering examination were changed making me ineligible, but things were not that clear which made me relax and already fixed in my mind that I need to drop a year and will be appearing again.
I met Dr Arya then director of the Career’s institute at sector 4 Gurgaon for the crash course for my medical and engineering examination in the last week of March 1999 and he said to me that all the seats are already full, but he will arrange something for me provided I agree and pay the fees. I took it arrogantly and joined some other place.
Passed my 10+2 with 62.2 % marks and didn't get admission to any of the government medical or engineering colleges. Few private colleges are in the list like Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune but were out of the family budget.
I applied for BSc in the Delhi University for many colleges with one of my good friends Dr Khalid as I wanted that in any case if I need to do BSc, I should do it from DU. But I didn’t get admission to any of the colleges in the morning shift till the 4th cutoff list.
This was a very low moment of my life, and I understood the importance of the “focus”.
Dropped 1 year, stopped all my plays, joined Career institute for the yearly program. I used to study for approx. 17 - 18 hours a day on a regular basis with almost ZERO physical activity and that too only the basics required for survival.
Cleared my medical and engineering exam in 2000, joined as a student to Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post graduate institute of medical sciences on 8th august, 2000 for MBBS.
I started gaining weight and everyone is appreciating this bulky look, also my physical activity is at a low level and throughout my college days I was more interested in my studies, and I never saw the notice board for the results. Result whenever out, reached to me with the blessings of the almighty and my dear friends. Intermittent parties with outside food especially birthdays or some get together etc. was usual.
Many of my friends used to play volleyball, cricket, badminton and even started weight training in the gym but I stayed away from these activities and was focusing only on studies.
Me ( first from the left), Dr. Gunjan Chaudhry, Dr Rajesh Chaudhry on 5th June 2005.
Me (second in the first row) on completion of my MBBS in December 2005.
I am becoming bulkier day by day and now when I used to visit my village. People used to pass a remark on my bulky appearance now in the local language meaning that I am a child of the business class family with no activity altogether. This also explains the phenomenon and importance of the lifestyle changes that come with every occupation and also the importance of lacking physical activity in my routine.
Me (second from left with blue kurta) with my friends in January 2006 just after completing graduation at Surajkund, Faridabad at the ring ceremony of my elder sister.
After completing the graduation and during the first attempt of my postgraduate examinations in 2006 I didn't get my desired branch. I again dropped for 1 more year to prepare well, shifted to Gurgaon and joined IAMS at Vasantkunj, New Delhi with my friend Dr. Utkarsh Bhagat for preparations. Studied regularly for 16-17 hours a day for a year. In the school where our classes are going in the evenings and on weekends dance classes are also going on by Shiamak Davar and I used to discuss with my friends that let's get through this examination and then we will learn to dance as well.
My all-India PG examination December 2006 was a great shocker for me but at the same time taught me some important principles of life i.e., never give up in any circumstance and just do your work with full faith and belief and you will get your rewards for sure and things like this happens to test your real core (mantle).
I reached my place of the examination well in advance approx. 90 mins before the scheduled entry. The authority had made some new changes to prevent the paper leak and copying by spy cameras and gadgets for which they are strictly scanning every individual and not allowing anything in the examination premises, and this led to long lines with limited access points. I entered my room approx. 30 mins late and as I opened my question paper found that my answer sheet (OMR) was torn obliquely from the side involving approx. 40-50 answers. I complained to the examination in charge in the room and he said to me that now nothing is possible as the time in which we were allowed to change the examination paper set had also elapsed. I retreated and got the same answers from the other senior officials as well. That was one of the lowest moments of my life and I was in a situation that even with many of the simple questions, I am not able to recall. I sat quietly, recollected myself and attempted only 180 questions out of 300. In the evening I sat with my parents and disclosed that my attempt was not what I was looking for and I may drop again to prepare again for my goal, and I will be joining some house job and prepare again if required. Finally, when the results came out, I cleared the examination, got MS Surgery at Ajmer medical college Rajasthan.
With the grace of God and all my well-wishers I got rank 1 in my post-graduation examination in state of Haryana in May 2007 and got the news from my friends when we were roaming about in the campus after the dinner with my friends. That year I also cleared all other examinations for which I had appeared. I thanked God and my grandfather to whom I attribute my accomplishment.
Receiving my degree on convocation from Dr Sukhbir Singh Sangwan.
With my friends on Convocation Day in April 2007, fourth from the left.
Residency time is one of the most important, hardworking times for any medical student. I used to invest most of my time studying and rest of my time whenever I get to rejuvenate, relax and party at times. We were known as outside foodies and party loving people who know each and every corner of the city and their special cuisine. Let me also clear to all of you that I was a teetotaler, nonsmoker till today and was eggetarian only at that time. Hence, I gained more weight during my post-graduation.
Me (right side) with my brother-in-law on 31st March 2010, just before completing My MD Radiodiagnosis.
After completing my MD Radiology in May 2010. I decided to change my physical attributes and started going for a walk daily morning, jogging, running and also joined swimming for some time.
Within 6-8 months I totally discarded that extra fat which I was wearing all the time throughout my UG & PG days.
Joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi in August 2011 as a senior resident and learned many new skills. I attribute all my intervention abilities in the field of radiology to my mentors and colleagues at AIIMS. Life was difficult but I am enjoying it and started compromising my personal workout schedule and also the diet & nutrition amid the tight working schedule.
Completed my senior residency in September 2013. Joined as consultant Radiologist at Modern Diagnostics Gurgaon. It was a great experience; I always try to take out time in the morning for myself and invest it in myself.
Got married to my soulmate Dr Ekta in July 2015. Got busy with many things in life, many functions and social gatherings. My morning routine started showing cracks and was modified slowly to end in a few months.
Blessed with my son Vrishank in June 2016 and that changed my profile now to a parent and I came to know about its importance. Respect and gratitude to my parents grew more and more slowly as I understood parenthood.
Started my own setup (CLCD Diagnostics) with grace of God, my grandparents, parents and all well-wishers in December 2017 and this taught me great lessons as I turned to be an entrepreneur from a doctor, spending more and more time at my workplace, minimum off and holidays along with a responsible son, husband and father. Slowly and steadily life took over again and my personnel schedule just got wiped away. Became a true common man, working hard, eating food and sleeping with minimal time to myself and also using most of my family time for work and other schedules.
As a result, I gained a good amount of weight in the form of fat again.
March 2020 came the CORONA and the first lockdown amid a scheduled intervention conference at Goa with family. Everything was shut, everyone was impacted, and life came to a standstill.
Came the olden days with Mahabharat and Ramayana with all day along with family, different dishes daily prepared at home and enjoying this great time. I understood the importance of family time and also came to know about my responsibilities in other areas as well.
Started my clinic again after a period of approx. 2 weeks arranging the mask, sanitizer, shoe covers, caps and with all the restrictions in and outside premises. Towards the end of the month a patient came out positive for corona in my clinic's immediate neighborhood and the entire area was sealed like anything. I was also home quarantined and that 2 weeks were like eye openers for me and changed many of my mindset.
Started again after a month arranging the staff and other things to start my setup and with every step, I got the blessings of the almighty.
Now most of the Sundays are off, we work for only half a day up to 3 pm and then call it a day. Took the vaccination shot along with my staff in January 2021 for COVID.
Things settled and life started moving and then came the second wave and it was so massive that almost every household in my knowledge had been impacted by this wave.
27 April 2021 my father post Covaxin vaccination had a fever which is not settling, and his breathlessness was increasing, and his voice was also quite low and he himself was stressed out despite medication. I took him to one of my friend’s hospital, gave few injections and his sugar spiked. Done with HRCT next morning along with the other test and then went to AIIMS New Delhi and ultimately with God's grace he was admitted.
This whole process had just turned me upside down, but the help paved in from all the corners by the blessings from the almighty. A day later I was not happy as I talked to my father on the phone. To me his breathlessness was worsening, and he was not able to speak. Am just imagining how my father was handling such a moment in the hospital amid this whole crisis. I got support from everywhere in this whole period and am grateful to all the great souls for helping me out in such a crisis. Also, I learned the real meaning of Karma in those days. Supported everyone to the best possible manner to fight in these circumstances selflessly as always.
After approx. 8 days my father got discharged from the hospital, my mother and wife who also got the covaxin shot were also mildly positive with the antigen test. They were also settled now and became asymptomatic.
In mid-May I made a promise to myself to correct all the lifestyle changes in myself, family and my friends. I started taking online seminars on health initially for my friends and relatives.
I started it on 15 August 2021 on our Independence Day purposefully to give freedom to everyone from the chronic lifestyle disorders. My weekly sessions continued till December 2021 when I thought of sharing my learnings to the entire world through this digital platform so that we all as humans can transform our lives and make this mother earth a better place to live.
Since June 2021 till date, I lost approx. 24 kgs of my weight, improved on my waist size which is now better by 6 inches and said no to any emotional offerings to anyone. Revamped my entire schedule in all spheres of my life i.e., physical, emotional, familial, social, environmental, occupational, finance, learning new skills, mental and spiritual.
I along with my son Vrishank, wife and my father started to work on us with a daily morning routine, physical exercises and revamped my daily eating pattern and style altogether.
Am with my wife on 26 November 2021 at the birthday function of my sister-in-law daughter.
Myself on 26 December 2021.With family at old Goa Church in March 2022.
Am thankful to almighty, my mentors, friends, family and my CLCD Diagnostics team because of whom I am able to transform myself, and also help others to transform their life and achieve what they just dreamed of in their thoughts.
I remembered grandpa’s words. I started to re-educate myself every now and then i.e a lifelong learner.
I spent lakhs of Rupees on courses in this corona time and am a changed personality altogether now. I was able to organize my business better, able to establish a small team again standing tall on human principles.
After setting up my Diagnostics center in December 2017, I was able to slowly sustain and grow this from just a startup and all the hiccups in the corona with my team.
During this phase, I was privileged to have worked with industry experts and leaders doing all the things at my place and giving best of the value to my patients and colleagues.
Within a span of 4.5 years, I was able to impact about 10,000 great souls in this field.
The more I helped other businesses, the more I could see myself grow as a person – getting more mature in my understanding of marketing and implementation.
After a lot of grinding in my life for over 7 years again as I put on more weight, I decided to shift gears in 2021 in the May after my father got discharged from the hospital.
I surrendered to my core inner self to redefine and transform my routine.
I followed this precise formula which I named as “Swasthya Santulan System”.
I was able to be fit by 5 inches and weigh less by 20 kgs on the scale using this system within 6 months.
I learn the art of mastering my routine, sleeping adequately, meditation, regular exercises, prayer, win over my cravings, transforming the diet altogether, family time, relaxation & rejuvenation.
In the month of August 2021, I decided to share all my new learnings to my family and friends, and I named it as “SWASTHIANS” the Healthy Lifestyle Hub.
I now help people step into their true potential by using the power of their mind to achieve their dream body and weight with Swasthya Santulan.
In the last few months, I have been able to mentor a few people.
Many of my students are now getting results using the methodologies that I have given them.
I now teach people how to make a balance in every sphere of life using this system.
Besides, all the medical stuff I do… I’m a firm believer in living a life that’s simple and productive.
I’m a life-long student of Personal Development and Spiritual Sciences, and a very favorite quote of mine is: “Success is Not Something That You Pursue…It’s Something That You Must Attract. By Being An Attractive Person (from within)”
So having said that, I have been practicing meditation and yoga for over a year now, which really puts me closer in touch with my Creator every single day of my life, which has helped me attract all the success that I have achieved till today.
I personally follow the principles in the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana – as It Is, meditate every morning and believe that “We are not human beings on a spiritual journey… rather we are spiritual beings on a human journey” and our ultimate goal in life is to go back home, back to God in the spiritual universe, the spiritual world that is meaningful only if we had done something here to help the people to come closer to each other and to the ultimate creator.
I love being to places with spiritual charisma and that energy hold me and connect to my creator and had been to Amarnath ji, Vaishno Devi ji, Somnath ji, Dwarakadheesh Ji, Madurai temple, Mahakaleshwar, Ujjain, Rameshwaram, Mansa Devi ji, Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Ajmer sharif, Harminder Sahib ji Amritsar, Khatu Shyam ji, Salasar Balaji, Tirupati Balaji, Shirdi etc.
Minimalism and to help everyone with the best of capabilities.
Being a ‘minimalist’ at the core, I really don’t own too many things now and live in a home where I have less and do more.
I’m a father of a great son “Vrishank”, husband of a loving wife and am currently based in Gurgaon and my wife is also a Radiologist, recently promoted to additional Professor at AIIMS, New Delhi, brother of two great sisters, son of great parents who just dedicated their life to us their three children and made us the person, able to stand in this world.
I’m also against the current education systems which only make a person employable after learning a particular skill for a specific occupation and also the healthcare system which concentrates more on the symptoms settlement through the medications and not stressing on the prevention part, disease progression or chronicity is not affected in many. Once a patient is always a patient in case of chronic lifestyle diseases in their entire life.
Have been practicing meditation for quite some time and spirituality for many years and read few of the scriptures i.e., Ramayana & Bhagavad Gita.
I love traveling to places of heritage and culture across India, eager to learn more about the great history, tradition, and philosophies which our great teachers have left for us.
I know I’m here to help you live an inspired, healthy lifestyle and create wealth by doing what you love, by following your true calling and purpose in life, and in turn give back to the world, through these gifts of your talents and abilities.
I really look forward to knowing more about you. Let’s be in touch, follow me on Facebook, join the Swasthians community, make sure you give your details, stay in tune with all that I’m doing online and offline.
I truly feel that this journey of mine has given me a purpose in life.
I’m here to carry forward my grandpa’s legacy of helping thousands of people live a better-quality life.
I’m on a mission to help 1,000,000 people live a healthy lifestyle.
And I’m glad that you are here.
I would love to help you achieve your goals.
My roots are grounded in spirituality and minimalism.
As much as I have very basic needs for myself, I have a high ambition to make people healthier, also earn money and create an impact in the world through social entrepreneurship and make you learn the laws to stay healthy forever.
If you are able to resonate with my vision, then let’s stay connected.
I’m glad that you got to learn more about me through this page.
You are awesome.
You are my next success story.
Wishing you the best of health,
Dr Indermohan Khandelwal (Dr IMK)
